WHAT: A fascinating exploration of old pre-military building ruins, cemeteries and military places on the North Tract of Patuxent Research Refuge. This won’t be the typical tour, since we will go where few venture to go. For more information select picture for more information and a printable flyer.
WHEN: Saturday, March 11, 2017; 8:45 AM–12 Noon.
WHERE: Participants will meet at North Tract Contact Station at 8:45 AM. Tour will take about 2 and ½ hours. Note: if it’s raining hard, we will try to reschedule the tour.
WHAT TO WEAR & BRING: Comfortable hiking shoes, long-sleeve shirt, hat; camera, water, and a sense of discovery.
REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED: Call 301-497-5887 to register. Space is limited to only 8 people.
NOTE: Travel will be in USFWS 4x4 vehicles and over some rough roads. There will be some hiking on non-maintained roads and trails.
