Bill’s gallery exhibit will run from December 1st thru 30th and display his unique and compelling images, "Birds of the Chesapeake Region,” along with selected wildlife images from a recent trip to the Ecuadorian Amazon – with the final lap of that journey, by canoe! His images have appeared in Chesapeake Bay Magazine and Spinsheet magazine, as well as in Bay-area calendars. He has exhibited work at the Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts as well as in the Hollingsworth Gallery. Bill writes that photography is the “art of seeing beyond the obvious.” He beautifully applies that philosophy to image-making both “here at home” in favorite locales, from the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center preserve in Graysonville to Blackwater and Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuges, and in places around the world.
Wildlife and nature photographer Bill Reichhardt of Annapolis, Maryland, will give a free gallery talk, “Bird Photography Techniques for Beginners,” followed by a reception with light refreshments, on Saturday, December 16th in the National Wildlife Visitor Center at Patuxent Research Refuge, 10901 Scarlet Tanager Loop in Bowie, MD. The talk will begin promptly at 1:30 pm and last about an hour; a reception and tour of his exhibit in the Hollingsworth Gallery will follow.
