My Garden of a thousand bees

Friday, April 4, 2025
5PM to 7PM

Explore just how special all the different bees are, even found in one backyard! Special guest Sam Droege, Wildlife Biologist at the USGS Bee Lab at the Eastern Ecological Science Center, will lead a Q&A in the auditorium following the film. Droege is a scientist, naturalist and apiologist (bee expert) who serves and protects even the smallest of our insect friends. Prior to the film, join Chesapeake Bay Trust Corps member William O'Boyle for a unique exhibit tour, starting at 4:15 pm in the main lobby.

The National Wildlife Visitor Center will be open 10:00am to 7:30pm. Visitors will also be able to stop by Wildlife Images Bookstore until 5:00pm. Purchases support wildlife conservation research in our area. Light refreshments by the Friends of Patuxent.

The First Fridays Film & Speaker Series is free and open to the public. All ages. No registration needed. Presentations are located at the National Wildlife Visitor Center, 10901 Scarlet Tanager Loop, Laurel, MD 20708.
