Vanishing World by Liz Guertin

Exhibit: October 1-31, 2024

9:00am to 4:30pm (Tuesdays to Saturdays)

Reception: Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm

Liz Guertin explores the natural world and the landscapes & species we are losing in her show Vanishing World. She uses the photographic techniques of intentional camera movement (ICM) and multiple exposures to amplify and communicate the impacts of habitat loss, species extinction, global climate change, and invasive species in the world around her. She views the changes we're seeing on the earth as surreal and abstract, difficult for humans to grasp in our everyday lives. She endeavors to capture this new planet with her camera. However, it's not all doom & gloom -- Liz enjoys the beauty of nature as well, and the show will have flowers and forests too.
