Join us at Patuxent Research Refuge on Thursday, May 15th for an exciting after-hours celebration dedicated to the Diamondback Terrapin! The evening will kick off with a guided exhibits tour led by our Chesapeake Bay Trust Corps Member William O'Boyle at 4:15 PM, followed by the screening of a short film titled Turtles on the Hill at 5:00 PM.
Enjoy a delightful intermission with refreshments provided by the Friends of Patuxent before we welcome our special guest Anne Wiley, PhD, an ecologist and environmental scientist from BSU, who will share insights on student research focused on our little hard-shelled friends at the refuge. Come enjoy this wonderful opportunity to learn more about these fascinating reptiles and their habitats!
The National Wildlife Visitor Center will be open 10:00am to 7:30pm. Visitors will also be able to stop by Wildlife Images Bookstore until 5:00pm. Purchases support wildlife conservation research in our area.
Free and open to the public. All ages. No registration needed. Presentations are located at the National Wildlife Visitor Center, 10901 Scarlet Tanager Loop, Laurel, MD 20708.
