What Makes a Good Nature Photo?

Part of the Youth Summer Photo Contest

June 28, 2025 - 10:30am to 11:15am

Nature Photo Exploration and Discovery Walks & Talks with local wildlife & nature photographer Rick Dove. Bring a cellphone that can take photos or bring a camera. Click here to view examples of Rick Dove's photography. Come with good questions for him.

Intended for ages 5-14 years. A parent/guardian must accompany youth (under age 18) participants. Meet at the National Wildlife Visitor Center’s Front Desk. Rain or shine. The discovery walks will be outdoors, weather permitting. Otherwise, the focus will be on indoor animal exhibits. 

Free and open to the public. No registration needed. Presentations are located at the National Wildlife Visitor Center, 10901 Scarlet Tanager Loop, Laurel, MD 20708.
